Consultative meeting with stakeholders for CoEs in North East under North East Vision Document 2022

A consultative meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shri Rajiv Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) on 02.09.2019 in Guwahati. In the event he expressed the intent of MeitY to setup Centres of Entrepreneurship with innovation zones in each of the eight states of the North East and to be prudent to start with 3 locations in the first phase. He expressed that selection of location and domain for the Centres of Excellence were made on the basis of consultation by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and through the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the academia, local industry and state governments. He stated that Centres of Entrepreneurship will be able to leverage better utilization of technology in solving issues important to the society and citizens. In addition, the Centres of Entrepreneurship with Innovation Zones will build a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

While utilizing the infrastructure and managerial expertise with STPI Shri Kumar stressed upon the need of roping in technological and other relevant partners that will enable development of solutions, be it in the field of Tea, Agriculture in general, Forest or any other allied areas.
