Soft Launch of OctaNE - 3 NE CoEs
In August 2018, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India launched the vision document for Digital North East 2022. The Vision Document provided a roadmap for translating the vision of Digital North East 2022 into firm action plan for each of the North East State.
As per the objective laid down in the vision document for Digital North East 2022, STPI was assigned with the responsibility to setup Centre of Entrepreneurship & Start-up Innovation Zone in each of the state of north east India.
To fulfill these vision into reality, STPI under the support of MeitY has put continuous effort, result of which are bearing fruitsnow in the form of OctaNE – Internetworked North East CoEs to supporttechnology led innovation by STPI. OctaNE is an umbrella of 08 nos. of CoE+SIZ in northeast region, each CoE+SIZ under OctaNE will be self-sufficient in its domain but together all CoE+SIZ will provide bouquet of services to the start-ups in emerging technologies.
On 20th July 2020,OctaNE (phase-I) is launched ( in https://bit.ly/stpipulse-octane) which have 03 Centre-of-Entrepreneurship & Start-upInnovationZone (CoE+SIZ), one each in Guwahati, Shillong and Imphal in areas of IoT in Agriculture, Animation & Emerging Tech - AR/VR respectively.
